New Sunday School Class: Ecclesiastes

This Sunday (Oct. 7) we will begin a new Sunday school class on the book of Ecclesiastes. Written by King Solomon as a death-bed confession, the book meanders through meditations on "everything under the sun"--wine, women, and song--only to conclude here: "The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil." In a day and age when our bellies are our gods, the book of Ecclesiastes is timely and challenging. Please commit to coming each Sunday as Pastor Andrew leads through this portion of God's Word.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones" (Psalm 116:15).

Just a short time ago, our dear sister Karine Simpkin went to be with the Lord. We grieve the loss of this godly woman, this dear friend and teacher of our children, this example of faith and joy in the midst of suffering, this wonderful mother and wife. Please pray for Bob, Heidi, and Ginger during this time of grief. Her pain has ended, and Karine is forever with the Lord.

A memorial service at Trinity celebrating Karine's life will be held on Monday, Sept. 3 at 3:00 p.m.
