Through many years as a missionary, pastor and representing world evangelization Bill Boerop and his wife Joy, WTI founders, came to grips with the overwhelming lack of sending bases. The weakest link in the evangelization of the world is not necessarily the lack of ‘go-ers' but that of senders. In 1974, Bill Boerop held the first World Thrust Seminar. The early model incorporated the seminar into an outstanding world missions conference of a local church which is significantly involved in world evangelization.

We're working in Tokyo with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM), in a variety of ministry areas aiming at sharing the love of Christ with the people of Japan. Gerald is also teaching a “continuing education” theology class during the summer and fall. The course is designed to better equip Christians to “rightly divide the word of truth”exposing them to the breadth of the Bible’s major teachings. Please pray for his students as they work through this potentially life-changing study. Debbie has been leading a Bible study for a group ladies at their home and another study at a local gym.

Jim and Anne Wenger serve as Latin America Liaisons for Faculty Commons part of the global faculty network of Campus Crusade for Christ International. They also serve as Prayer Coordinators for the ministry. For 30 years Jim was engaged in Christian higher education, as missionaries in Latin America and also in the U.S. His most recent positions were on the faculty of Columbia International University for two decades, as Dean of the Extension Division and Director of the Department of InterCultural Studies.

For more than 20 years we have been involved in pioneer missionary work... planting churches, translating the bible into the local languages, evangelizing, discipling and training the believers to carry the good news of Christ to the next village, tribe and language group. However due to limited resources, the local churches have been hard pressed to find an effective way to carry the gospel beyond their own villages. Their hearts were willing, but their options were few.

George and Kathy both graduated in 1975 from Columbia Bible College with a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies. George earned a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in l979 from Denver Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary. He completed his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) at Columbia International University in 2001. His dissertation was entitled Models of Missionary Training: An Assessment of Alternative Approaches to Training for Cross-Cultural Ministry.
